Food support. Genuine community. Everyone is welcome.

Food Care is Hope Chapel's weekly community food program, providing fresh fruit and vegetables, low-cost pantry essentials, freezer items and food support to anyone who could use a little extra help.

Whether you're doing it tough financially, looking to stretch the family budget, or simply need some food support, we'd love to welcome you.

There is no referral process, no Centrelink paperwork and no proof of income required. Simply come along and one of our friendly volunteers will help you get started.

What you'll find at Food Care

Fresh fruit and vegetables

For just $7, you can purchase a Pantry Bag filled with a variety of non-perishable household staples. Every bag is different, but may include items such as pasta, rice, tinned food, sauces, flour, snacks, toiletries, cleaning products and other pantry essentials.

Freezer Bags

For $7, you can also purchase a Freezer Bag containing a selection of frozen and refrigerated items. Depending on availability, this may include frozen meat, frozen vegetables, dairy products and other frozen foods.

You're welcome to purchase multiple Pantry Bags and Freezer Bags, subject to availability on the day.

Special items

From time to time we also have additional items available in limited quantities, such as bread, eggs, prepared meals and other special products. When these become available, we'll share details on our Facebook page. Some items may require advance reservation or have purchase limits to ensure as many households as possible can benefit.

What to expect

When you arrive, simply park and come inside.

Our volunteers will welcome you, explain what's available that day and answer any questions you may have.

You're welcome to collect your food and head off, or stay for a complimentary tea or coffee, enjoy a chat with one of our volunteers, or receive prayer if that's something you'd appreciate.

If you'd like to stay longer, you're also warmly invited to join the Sunday church service. Attending the service is completely optional.

Families are welcome, and primary school-aged children can enjoy our Sunday kids program while the service is running.

Powered by generosity

Food Care is made possible through the generosity of Hope Chapel, our dedicated volunteers and our generous food donors.

Every week, volunteers collect donated food, sort and store produce, prepare Pantry Bags and Freezer Bags, collect prepared meals, and carefully organise everything ready for distribution. Hope Chapel also provides the facilities, refrigeration, transport and many of the everyday costs that help keep the program running.

It is a privilege to serve our community in this way, and we are grateful to everyone who contributes their time, resources and generosity to make Food Care possible.
